Stuffed cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 head of white cabbage
  • 2 m thick string
  • 250 g minced meat
  • 3 spoon breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • A little bit of salt
  • A little bit of pepper
  • A little bit of nutmeg
  • 50 ml oil
  • 250 ml water


Preparation

  • Heat salted water until it boils.
  • Peel the onion and cut it into small pieces.
  • Lay the white cabbage into the boiling water.
  • Knead the mince meat with the onion, the breadcrumbs, the eggs and the salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  • Every 10 minutes take the head of white cabbage out of the weater and take the outer parts away.
  • Lay 2 dried white cabbageparts on each other, fill them with the minces meat and tie them with the string.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry the rolled cabbage.
  • Lay the fried cabbage in a big pot and heat them with the water.
  • Boil the stuffed cabbage for 45 minutes at low heat in the pot.


Refinement

  • You can use the water of the stuffed cabbage to make a sauce. Just boil the water with some cornflour.
